The Lion Academy of Music is very passionate about Guitar and we offer expert tuition with a relaxed but encouraging approach. We offer 1-2-1 lessons in Guitar, with a focus on Acoustic, Electric or Classical repertoire.
In your Guitar lessons you will learn key skills and build the foundations of learning in safe, fun and engaging way.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about Guitar pedals, amplifiers the latest modern technology in the Guitar world.
We give students the chance to learn traditional written notation and or modern tablature. Whether your interested in Pop, Rock, Indie, Metal, Reggae, Classical or Spanish – We’ve got you covered!
We have a 100% exam pass rate and regularly submit students in exams with these current boards ABRSM, LCM, RSL (Rockschool) and Trinity College London.

Electric Guitar
Plug in and turn it up! Our electric guitar lessons are perfect for beginners through to budding rock stars. Learn riffs, solos, power chords, and your favourite songs while building solid technique and confidence.
Acoustic Guitar
Learn to make music with just your hands and six strings. Our acoustic guitar lessons cover everything from strumming your first chords to fingerpicking your favourite songs.

Our talented guitar team—Pete and Rik—bring years of experience and a passion for teaching to every lesson. Together, they offer expert tuition in acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and ukulele, catering to all ages and skill levels. Pete also specialises in Tenor Banjo and Mandolin, making our string offering even more versatile. Whether you’re picking up your first chord or diving into advanced techniques, you’re in great hands with Pete and Rik.

We advise children from the age of 6 upwards benefit from one-to-one lessons. However some younger children can still benefit with shorter lessons.

Yes. We encourage students to pursue examinations, as Grades 6 upwards gain UCAS Points for University. We also offer exam tuition in Classical/Folk/Pop and Musical Theatre depending on what the student may want to pursue.

No. Exams are extremely beneficial in improving confidence and technique, however sometimes they can be scary and time consuming. Some students prefer lessons for enjoyment and a break from all those devices!
