At Lion Academy, our piano students are supported by a passionate and versatile team of tutors. Ben, our lead piano teacher, specialises in advanced repertoire, exam preparation, and composition, guiding students through higher levels of playing with expert insight. For beginner and early intermediate students, Monique, Pete, and Will offer warm, encouraging tuition that builds strong foundations and confidence from the very first lesson. No matter the level, our team is here to inspire every pianist’s journey.

We advise children from the age of 6 upwards benefit from one-to-one lessons. However some younger children can still benefit with shorter lessons.

Yes. We encourage students to pursue examinations, as Grades 6 upwards gain UCAS Points for University. We also offer exam tuition in Classical/Folk/Pop and Musical Theatre depending on what the student may want to pursue.

No. Exams are extremely beneficial in improving confidence and technique, however sometimes they can be scary and time consuming. Some students prefer lessons for enjoyment and a break from all those devices!
