Lion Academy of Music proudly offers Viola Lessons for all ages from beginners up to grade 8.
Lion Academy can take you through a rich and diverse musical programme that is designed to challenge, motivate and improve your Violin performance to its highest potential.
In addition, we can tailor our lessons for students to focus on a classical, folk or contemporary syllabus.
Examinations are available and we can even offer Performance & Recorded Violin exams here at our Brighouse Studio.
We have a 100% exam pass rate in ABRSM, LCM, LAMDA and Trinity College London.

Elizabeth “Libbs” is a professional Violinist and String player performing and recording strings for Pop and Folk bands.
Libbs trained at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire and Leeds College of Music. Libbs is passionate about quality teaching. ” I recognise the profound influence it has had on me, and also with my one to one pupils. I have been teaching privately for 5 years, and I currently teach strings in primary schools to whole class groups.”
I also encourage ear training with my string pupils.
Whether preparing the student for grade exams, competitions, auditions or playing just for fun, the aim is always to develop skill, technique and musicality further.

We advise children from the age of 6 upwards benefit from one-to-one lessons. However some younger children can still benefit with shorter lessons.

Yes. We encourage students to pursue examinations, as Grades 6 upwards gain UCAS Points for University. We also offer exam tuition in Classical/Folk/Pop and Musical Theatre depending on what the student may want to pursue.

No. Exams are extremely beneficial in improving confidence and technique, however sometimes they can be scary and time consuming. Some students prefer lessons for enjoyment and a break from all those devices!
