Many students wanting to learn Violin or Cello often overlook their Stringed cousin the Viola. The Viola is a fantastic and versatile instrument. Lower than the Violin, but higher than the Cello. The Viola has a vibrant nasal quality that with knowledge of the instrument can truly sparkle.
Examinations are available and encouraged. The Lion Academy Team can offer Performance & Recorded Viola exams here at our Brighouse Studio.
We have a 100% exam pass rate in ABRSM, LCM, LAMDA and Trinity College London

Elizabeth “Libbs” is a professional Violinist and String player performing and recording strings for Pop and Folk bands.
Libbs trained at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire and Leeds College of Music. Libbs is passionate about quality teaching. ” I recognise the profound influence it has had on me, and also with my one to one pupils. I have been teaching privately for 5 years, and I currently teach strings in primary schools to whole class groups.”
I also encourage ear training with my string pupils.
Whether preparing the student for grade exams, competitions, auditions or playing just for fun, the aim is always to develop skill, technique and musicality further.

Absolutely! Adults are welcome, whether your looking to expand on Vocal technique or want to pick up a new hobby!
We advise children from the age of 6 upwards benefit from 1-2-1 lessons. However some younger Children can still benefit with shorter lessons.
Yes. We encourage students to pursue singing exams, as Grades 6 upwards gain UCAS Points for University. We also offer exam tuition in Classical/Folk/Pop and Musical Theatre depending on what the student may want to pursue.
No. Exams are extremely beneficial in improving confidence and technique, however sometimes they can be scary and time consuming. Some students prefer lessons for enjoyment and a break from all those devices!
