Ukulele Lessons at the Lion Academy of Music! We are very passionate about instrumental teaching and we provide expert tuition with a relaxed but encouraging approach. Our Ukulele lessons are on a 1-2-1 basis.
Often Ukulele is an overlooked instrument but it can be a fantastic starter instrument for budding guitarists and also for those wanting to have fun and make music!
We give students the chance to learn traditional written notation and or modern tablature. Whether your interested in Pop, Rock, Indie, Metal, Reggae, Classical or Spanish – We’ve got you covered!
We have a 100% exam pass rate and regularly submit students in exams with these current boards ABRSM, LCM, RSL (Rockschool) and Trinity College London.

Daniel Bottomley
Dan has always been obsessed with music. Learning countless instruments, and playing in orchestras, wind bands and jazz bands throughout school, he eventually discovered the electric guitar and bass and instantly fell in love. As a vital part of his career as an actor musician he’s played guitar in theatre shows from Pitlochry to Hong Kong. Most recently acoustic guitar in the first UK tour of Once the musical.
Dan holds a distinction in Grade 8 electric guitar and is also classically trained on the piano, saxophone and french horn.
An award nominated sound designer and composer, Dan enjoys every possible facet of music and music production and is keen to pass on that enthusiasm to future students!

Yes. We are always happy to offer a trial lesson, so you can get get acquainted with all the Lion Academy Team.
Absolutely! Adults are welcome, whether your looking to expand on Vocal technique or want to pick up a new hobby!
We advise children from the age of 6 upwards benefit from 1-2-1 lessons.
Yes. We encourage students to pursue singing exams, as Grades 6 upwards gain UCAS Points for University. We also offer exam tuition in Classical/Folk/Pop and Musical Theatre depending on what the student may want to pursue.
No. Exams are extremely beneficial in improving confidence and technique, however sometimes they can be scary and time consuming. Some students prefer lessons for enjoyment and a break from all those devices!
Yes. This is often a great way to start a strummed instrument. Once the basics are learnt, a student can progress to the Guitar.
